Dead Bees

Dead Bees is a poetry collection born during the pandemic, inspired by writer Mel Green's repeated encounters with dead bees. Influenced by One Hundred Years of Solitude, Mel brings magical realism into everyday moments. Her poems invite readers to explore the intricate balance between joy, suffering, and curiosity. For this project, I created classic line art to complement the themes of whimsy and reflection woven throughout the collection. Dead Bees was produced by Zines and Things, a Portland-based zine press focused on elevating marginalized voices through collaborations with writers and artists.
