Watershed Protection Signage for Austin Parks & Recreation

Visual Branding & Signage Design Standards

The Austin Parks & Recreation (PARD) Signage Manual provides comprehensive guidelines for designing, producing, and installing signage throughout Austin’s park system. These standards ensure a consistent and cohesive visual style that establishes a distinct identity for PARD. A dedicated section within the manual was created to outline design specifications for educational signage developed by the Watershed Protection Department (WPD) on PARD properties.

In collaboration with the WPD, this manual features an expanded color palette that incorporates unique WPD hues alongside the primary PARD colors, ensuring integration with the overall visual style. The guidelines also mandate the use of consistent fonts and distinctive water-themed headers across all signage variants. Signs created and installed at Battle Bend Park and Pease Park Conservancy exemplify this branding.
