AIGA ATX Afterhours Poster Show

Poster Illustration / Screenprint

This is the poster I designed for the AIGA Austin Afterhours Poster Show, an event dedicated to bringing the Central Texas community together to use art and design to support and raise awareness for lesser-known regional non-profits. The theme of the show was music, and proceeds from the fundraiser went to support Kids in a New Groove, a nonprofit organization that provides foster children in Central Texas with free, weekly private music lessons. The exhibition, which featured the works of 40 artists, was part of the East Austin Studio Tours.

Melodic Expressions of Time: A reflection on how music captures moments and connects us to the meaningful parts of ourselves.

There is a vast horizon of collective human emotions that can be experienced deeply through music. By our very nature, this freedom and diversity of expression allow us to connect to what makes us human—to the rhythms of life, of love, of memories, of time. It tells the stories of our past, present, and future. It remembers the pleasure and the pain, the security and the insecurity, the courage and the fear. It nurtures our roots, restores us, and humbles us. Music expresses the most vulnerable and passionate parts of ourselves, and with that, we are able to embrace the extraordinary.
